If you are receiving Error 520 on your website from Quic.Cloud this is ususally related to your websites firewall. (Though can be caused by site performance!) Our servers automatically allow list their IP addresses since we run LiteSpeed Web Server. Below are steps to add their IP addresses to your website's firewall.
*Note: These instructions will cover steps for HideMyWP Ghost which is our preferred WordPress security solution. You may need to adapt these instructions to your security plugin. If you need help, please feel free to contact us.
- First, login to your websites admin Dashboard. You can do that here.
- Next, on the left side scroll to the bottom and go to "WP Ghost" > "Firewall" > "Whitelist".
- Next, open this link. (It will open in a new tab.) https://quic.cloud/ips
- Select all on the page, and copy. (Ctrl + A then Ctrl + C on Windows)
- Go back to the WP Ghost page, and in the "Whitelist IPs" field, paste the IPs that you just copied. (Ctrl + V on Windows)
- At the bottom of the page, click "Save".
- Finally, at the top of the page in the "Admin Bar" find the diamond symbol for LiteSpeed Cache. Hover over it then click "Purge All".
It may take a few hours for the CDN and server to fully update the new firewall rules. If your website is still experiencing 520 errors after 24 hours, please contact us. Please make sure to provide us a screenshot including the URL you are accessing.
Additional Note:
You can also experience this error with CloudFlare if you use them for your CDN provider instead. You can attempt to add their IPs to the allow list as well. Below are their IPs to add instead:
IPv4: https://www.cloudflare.com/ips-v4/#
IPv6: https://www.cloudflare.com/ips-v6/#
If everything is configured correctly:
If everything is configured correctly and your IPs are added to the allow list correctly then it is possible your website performance could be the cause. Submit a ticket and request a GTMetrix speed test, (must be an existing customer). Afterwards, we would be happy to make recommendations for changes you can make on your website. Additionally, we do have performance optimization services and in some cases you may want to look into moving to one of our VPS solutions.
